3. Take Supplements

Boost your intake of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories.  Antioxidants help fight the free radicals in the environment by neutralizing them.  This will help you look youthful, and prevent cancer.

4. Exercise

The American Heart Association recommends 30 minutes of moderately intense activity, like brisk walking, five days a week.   In order to maximize your workouts, add strength training — 12-15 repetitions of eight to 10 different exercises — three times week.  Strength training is what prevents the “flabby chicken arms”.

5. Be Sun Safe

When you are out in the sun, make sure to slather on sunscreen.  Reapply often, and use a liberal amount.  In addition to putting sunscreen on your face, don’t forget your neck and hands; They are the first to show signs of aging.

6. Drink More Water

Drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water each day. Water helps hydrate your skin, delivers nutrients to your cells, and flushes toxins from your body.

7. Get Enough Sleep

Research shows the quality of sleep diminishes with age, and many diseases arise because of poor sleep.  The National Sleep Foundation recommends getting seven to nine hours every night.  One of the most important things you can do to stay young and healthy is to get adequate sleep every night.

8. Reduce Stress

Stress causes an overproduction of the hormone cortisol, which leads to exhausted adrenal glands, increased body fat, a higher risk of high blood pressure, and other problems.  Start by going for a walk and turning off your BlackBerry.  Exersize is also a great way to release stress.

9. Moisturize, Exfoliate

Moisturizers hydrate skin and help make wrinkles less noticeable. Exfoliate regularly to get rid of dead, dull skin.

10. Stop Smoking

Quitting smoking may be the most important anti-aging tip of all.  Smoking accelerates aging of the skin by breaking down collagen.
